OPENING TOUR

The school greeted us in Berlin and we spent three days there in a hotel. We toured the city by bus and foot, and went to the memorial/remains of a concentration camp outside of the city. I also went on the optional trip to the Jewish Museum in the center of the city. I didn't realize how much of Berlin was destroyed in the war, so the buildings that were left from years and years ago were either ruins, which were still really cool to see, or totally reconstructed, just meant to look like the old building once did. Overall I loved Berlin because of the history and the modern culture that resulted out of such a corrupt communist one.

Next, we went to Prague which I absolutely LOVED. It was so beautiful, I can't even explain. It was so relaxed and just amazing. The architecture was gorgeous and everything looked like it was still standing from 100s of years ago, just amazing. The cobble stone roads and 100s of old churches were so interesting and we took a 3 hour walking tour of the Old Town Square, where all the action is. We went on a pub crawl with almost the entire group of GIF students and it was so much fun - we went to a church-turned-pub that was 3 stories! Prague is definitely my favorite so far.
